About Us

The Vision

Redding Community Access Corporation is a communications vehicle by which community members, through organizations or as individuals, are given an opportunity to produce, participate in, and cablecast television programs.

It is the goal of The Redding Community Access Corporation (RCAC) to interest and serve members of the community in developing purposeful television productions through video training offered through the Channel 11 production facility.

The purpose is to promote awareness, understanding and involvement among citizens within the community through the production and cablecasting of access TV programming.

This supports individual freedom of expression and allows individuals, organizations and agencies to present a variety of programs on various community issues.

Funding

At its inception in 1987, funds to operate and maintain the access facility were provided equally by the cable provider and the City of Redding to sustain Channel 11. Currently the local cable provider and the City of Redding assist in partial funding.

In July of 1996, RCAC became a private nonprofit corporation. At that time RCAC developed a 5 year financial plan for funding through sources such as grants and production fees. The nominal fees charged for RCAC's services are vital to keeping Channel 11 operational and available to the community.

Who Runs Access
