REDDING COMMUNITY ACCESS CORPORATION'S
FACILITIES MAY BE UTILIZED FOR
PROFESSIONAL AND NONPROFESSIONAL PRODUCTIONS.
RCAC encourages local television production and cablecasting of access TV programming to promote
awareness, understanding and involvement among
citizens within the community.
This supports individual freedom of
expression and allows individuals, organizations
and agencies to present a variety of programs on various community issues.
Redding Community Access Corporation
provides programming to more than 30,000 homes that
are served by the Charter Communication cable system in Redding,
Anderson, Shasta Lake and portions of the unincorporated
areas of Shasta County. Unique to Access television
alone is the ability for any individual or organization
to produce and present information to their local community served by the cable system.
Through RCAC's affiliation with the national
Access organization, Alliance for Community Media, producers are encouraged to present their
locally produced programs to markets outside of the
local cable system, which extends the reach of
producers beyond Shasta County.

A fully equipped mobile production van is available
for producing local events for television. The van is
equipped with a three camera multi-camera configuration. It essentially provides
producers with a studio control room on wheels. Use of the van is for producing
local events and activities for cablecasting on Channel 11.
Specific rules & operating procedures apply. Please contact
the staff for more details.
Pre-Recorded Videos/Sponsorship
Channel 11 will cablecast pre-recorded videos
provided sponsors secure and provide written copyright
releases from the copyright holder. Properly formatted VHS or SVHS
tapes or DVD are required. Identification within the program
relating to the local sponsorship of the program is
strongly advised, but not required. Fees for cablecasting are a
$1.00 per minute.
Use of The Redding Community Access Facility
Use of the access studio and equipment is on a
first-come, first-served, non-discriminatory
basis. Proficiency is necessary in specific areas
of production. The Production staff at RCAC act as facilitators training individuals and
organizations in acquiring the necessary skills to produce
their own programs.
For more information on learning to produce your own television programs, see our
